The Alternate Parent

poetryI have been asked to write a series of articles for BigWorldNetwork.com on Alternate Parenting.This series is quite different than my other stuff and so it is under my pen name Phyllis Sweetwater.  Plus I dive into my troubled teenage past _ I am hiding my true identity so no one will guess who I really am.  There are some great interviews, including one with my mother explaining what I was really like, to some professional opinions about child psychology.  I cover adoption, gangs, brain development, role models and much more.  The articles are also available as pod casts that can be downloaded for free.
I'm doing this because I write for teens and a big part of that is researching who they are and what they want.  I hope it will also help me in dealing with my own children.  If you think I have some valid points then cool, maybe you'll like my fiction and poetry too.  Speaking of poetry, check out Vine Leaves Literary Journal and see "the transplant" in their first issue! this poem refers to the day my father had open heart surgery and I was out in my garden.
