This is an epic book, spanning the life of the human race.  I found Luce a bit naive, getting herself into trouble when she should have known better.  This book is very much an internal struggle with hardly any outside characters. When I finished this book I realized it was a giant build up to the next book.  So my recommendation is wait until RAPTURE comes out in June and then read then back to back. 
So, whoever wins this book gets to stare at it on their shelf for three months.
